Iran's regional partners during the war

Hezbollah joined attacks from Lebanon on March 2, prompting Israeli strikes. The Houthis threatened to enter the conflict and a missile was later reported from Yemen; their participation and losses should be described by specific events, not claims of neutralization.

Iran's regional partners did not act as a single command structure during the 2026 war. Hezbollah opened fire from Lebanon on March 2, and Israel responded with strikes. The Houthis voiced support for Iran and threatened action; Israel later said it detected a missile launch from Yemen. Those events show participation on different levels, not that either group was dismantled.

Hezbollah's front from Lebanon

The Jerusalem Post reported that Hezbollah launched its first attack on Israel's northern region since 2024 on March 2, describing the move as the group's formal entry into the conflict. Israel then struck Hezbollah targets. The IDF's campaign page describes its operations against Iranian-backed groups, while its claims about battlefield results should be understood as official military reporting.

The Houthis' warning and reported launch

In March, Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi said the group was ready to act if developments warranted it. The Jerusalem Post reported that the group had not formally announced it was joining the war, and that Israel later said it had identified a missile launched from Yemen. This distinction matters: a warning, a claimed launch, and sustained participation are different levels of involvement.

Iran's partners have their own interests, and the evidence above does not support describing Hezbollah or the Houthis as dismantled. Claims that specific forces were eliminated require evidence beyond the events reported here.

The Jerusalem Post reported Hezbollah's March 2 attack and Israel's response. Its report on the Houthis distinguishes public threats from a formal declaration of entry. The IDF's campaign page documents Israel's stated campaign against Iran and its partners.
